Filmmaking is a collaborative medium and it takes a good team to produce something worthwhile. Introducing the people behind the new documentary Banded Together: The Boys From Glen Rock High:
Doug Romoff had the original idea for this film because he wanted to give his young son Adrian an idea of what his father’s life was like in high school. He produced the film along with his good friend Barry Rubinow. The two had made films together going back to their high school days, and collaborated on numerous professional projects before deciding to launch into Banded Together.
Patrick Cone is an award-winning documentary filmmaker. He produced and directed “Back In Brooklyn,” a feature documentary about jazz bassist John Patitucci. He hired Barry Rubinow to edit that film, which led to a partnership on many projects, including “Banded Together,” on which Patrick was director of photography. His work has been featured on The Wall Street Journal online and at Slamdance Film Festival, among other worldwide outlets and festivals. See more of his work here.
Richard Gardner is a British designer/director for the moving image. His work encompasses broadcast motion-graphics, branding and live-action direction. He has worked for leading UK broadcasters in the UK (BBC, ITV and Channel 4) and at the Documentary Channel in Los Angeles. Barry and Richard have collaborated on many projects for over 20 years.
